Agelytics runs in a web browser — there's nothing to download. This page covers what you need and the rules for setting it up where customers will be scanned.
01What you need
- A recent version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox on a laptop, tablet or phone.
- A front-facing camera, and permission for the browser to use it.
- A steady internet connection (the age estimate runs online; face tracking runs on the device).
02Adding it to your home screen
On a tablet or phone, open Agelytics in the browser and choose "Add to Home Screen" (Safari: Share menu; Chrome: ⋮ menu). It then opens like an app. On a computer you can bookmark the Door mode page.
03Setting up a counter device
- Sign in on the device so it isn't limited to free tries, then open Door mode.
- Place the camera at face height, with soft light in front of people — not a bright window behind them.
- Keep the device secured and the screen locked when unattended, so others can't open your logs.
04Telling customers
Put up a clear notice near the camera saying an automated age check is used, that photos aren't stored, and that they can show a photo ID instead. Get any consent your local law requires before scanning.
05Where not to install
Don't point the camera at public areas to scan people who haven't stepped up for a check, and don't install it in places where recording is restricted, such as restrooms or changing areas.
06Updates
Because Agelytics runs in the browser, you always get the latest version when you reload the page. No manual updates are needed.
07Removing it
Delete the home-screen icon or bookmark, and remove camera permission in your browser settings. To delete your account and logs, see the Privacy Policy.
